Itinerary No. 49 – MONTAGUE AND CAPULET
Road Bikes · Berici Hills & Val d'Agno
28,3 km · 734 m D+
Short, intense, theatrical.
This itinerary is a tragedy in three acts, like the work from which it takes its name: a few kilometers, but real climbs, broken rhythms and a dramatic finaleThe race runs between Montecchio Maggiore and the hills overlooking the Val d'Agno, with constant changes of scenery.
The profile: three twists
The graph is very clear:
- Act I (0–6 km)
Immediately uphill: a regular ramp that climbs up to the first 250 m, then a rapid descent. - Act II (11–19 km)
The central block: longer, more continuous, with sections above 10% that break the rhythm. - Act III (20–26 km)
The last climb: short but nasty, before the return.
Between one act and the next, very little recovery: it's a tour that doesn't forgive those who start strong.
The Berici Climbs
🔴 Climb n.73 – ROMEO AND JULIET
The route's poetic signature. A steady gradient, a narrow road, and an atmosphere suspended between castles and vineyards. A classic climb that warms the legs and the mind.
🔵 Climb n.84 – BERNUFFI
Technical, uneven, with curves that break the rhythm. Not long, but treacherous: if you get the gears wrong, you pay the price immediately.
⚫ Climb n.77 – CAVALLARA
The hardest moment. Short, steep, uncompromising. It's the true antagonist of the tour: a few minutes of pure suffering.
The Map: A Drama Between Two Castles
The track moves between Montecchio Maggiore, Sovizzo, and the hills between the Val d'Agno and Vicenza, with continuous ups and downs that resemble a labyrinth.
The panorama extends from Romeo and Juliet's Castles to the northern Berici ridges.

MONTAGUE AND CAPULET It's a tragic and fast-paced story:
28 km that feel like 50, three climbs that feel like five.
A small masterpiece of cycling suffering.
