Berici Ring – Medium Counterclockwise
Where rhythm meets walls: the most selective side of the Berico massif
The Middle Berici Ring in a counterclockwise direction It is one of those itineraries that do not immediately strike you with a single monumental climb, but which over time reveal themselves to be deeply demandingThe altimetric profile tells a story made of continuous waves, with concentrated peaks and frequent restarts: an ideal terrain for those who love active riding and effort management.
The route runs around the heart of the Berici Hills, alternating scenic roads, sudden walls and nervous sectors, without ever allowing long stretches of real recovery.
Itinerary that takes us along the Anello dei Berici medium version in an anti-clockwise direction. We start from Monte Berico Santuario and after an initial stretch with light ups and downs we tackle the first climb of the route in Nogarazza, the climb 96 XXV APRIL which takes us to the small church of Colle di Valmarana. We continue in the direction of Altavilla Vicentina and after a few kilometers of downhill and flat terrain we arrive at the first black peak of the day, the fearsome climb 72 SELVA ALTA which takes us to the Brendola Golf Club, pay attention to the last final wall which is almost 23%!
The itinerary becomes increasingly wild and through a mixed concrete dirt road we arrive at the beautiful Rocca di Brendola from which you can admire a stupendous panorama of the entire hilly amphitheater of Brendola.
We go downhill along the asphalt road up to Brendola and head south to Colle di Grancona, the short but very steep road awaits us climb 64 SAN GAUDENZIO! The panoramic square of Grancona awaits us for a well-deserved break! We continue our ring and head towards the beautiful suspended valley of Pozzolo, we continue and return to plain levels after the descent of Boccadorno. From Toara we continue north along the eastern side of the Berici Hills and touching the numerous and beautiful cycle stations in this part of the Berici. After Longare the last challenging wall of the itinerary awaits us climb 17 BUGANO WALL! We continue in the direction of Vicenza along the cycle path of the Berica Riviera and return to Monte Berico Santuario via the climb n.1 MONTE BERICO SANCTUARY.

Reading the altimetric profile
The profile is broken into three main acts:
- First part was eventful (0–20 km)
Continuous ups and downs that warm the legs, without yet any definitive hits. - Harder middle section (20–45 km)
Here the black climbs, with significant slopes and little room for recovery. - Nervous ending (45–71 km)
Apparently simpler, but with breaks that punish those who exaggerated before.

🟡 Climb 96 – XXV APRIL
Category: Yellow
A smooth climb, often underestimated, but perfect for set the pace.

- Excellent for climbing "at a slow pace"
It's a control climb: whoever pushes here, pays later.
⚫ Climb 72 – HIGH SELVA
Category: Black
One of the toughest climbs on the route.
- The initial stretch is already challenging
- Slopes that don't give up
- Feeling of a “closed” climb, in the woods
Selva Alta is a climb to be approached with respect: short, but brutal.
⚫ Climb 64 – SAN GAUDENZIO
Category: Black
A classic of the most severe Berici.
- Narrow street
- Decisive ramps
- Zero chance to relax
Here the effort becomes mental as well as physical. It's a challenging climb.
⚫ Climb 17 – BUGANO WALL
Category: Black
The name is not a coincidence.
- A real “wall”
- Steep slopes
- To be faced with the right attitude and a lot of calm
Bugano Wall is one of those points where the group, if there is one, it shatters.
🔴 Climb 1 – MONTE BERICO – SANCTUARY
Category: Red
The symbolic climb of Vicenza and the Berici Hills.

- A panorama that repays every effort
It arrives when the legs are already marked, and that's what makes it special: a closing climb that must be honored.

He doesn't give anything away for free, but he repays with variety, technique and character.
Between Selva Alta, San Gaudenzio and Bugano Wall, this itinerary represents one of the best ways to understand what it really means cycling in the Berici Hills.
