BC ROUTE n.1
Berici Ring โ Short, clockwise
An accessible classic, with a memorable ending.
This Short Berici Ring clockwise It is one of those routes that do not seek special effects, but tell the story of the Berici Hills with balance and cycling intelligence.
The map and the altimetric profile speak clearly: long flowing stretches, a well-distributed difference in altitude and a single, truly selective climb, placed in the right spot to give character to the ride.
This itinerary takes us on a discovery of the northern part of the Berici Hills. Starting from the Monte Berico Sanctuary, after a steep descent near the Monte Berico steps arch, we take the Riviera Berica cycle path, which we follow until shortly after the town of Longare. We leave the cycle path near a roundabout and follow Via Chiesa Nuova on the right, then after a few hundred meters, turn right onto Via Bizio towards Costozza. We follow the beautiful and quiet wine route, staying close to the Berici Hills, passing through the towns of Lumignano, Castegnero, and Nanto. Before the church in Nanto, there is a small uphill stretch. The first real climb is in Mossano, the initial part of the famous Crosara Via Monti climb, tackled in the 2015 Giro d'Italia. After the Mossano climb, the road continues on a slight slope until the start of the climb n.23 SCUDELETTAWe are riding along the famous Berici ridge, through much of the La Scudeletta climb, the stage of the 2025 Giro d'Italia, which, through numerous ups and downs, will take us to the cycle stations of San Gottardo, Perarolo, Arcugnano, up to the finish line at Monte Berico Santuario and the facing stage of Piazzale della Vittoria.
It is an ideal itinerary as gateway to the world of Berici Climbs, but also capable of satisfying those looking for a training outing without excesses.

Reading the altimetric profile
The first half of the ring is essentially scorrevole: flat or slightly undulating roads allow you to find your rhythm, stay in a group and clock up the miles without stress.
After km 20-22, however, the profile changes face: the line climbs continuously up to the highest point of the lap, with a progressive and easily recognizable climb which represents the heart of the itinerary.
