The 5 colors of Berici Climbs

"Hello, simply Hello
It's difficult to find very serious words
I'll try to draw
Like a painter
I'll make sure
To get straight to the heart
With the power of color
Look without speaking

Blue like you
Like the sky and the sea
And yellow like sunlight
Red like the things you do to me
Try

Hello, simply Hello
I draw the grass as green as hope
And like still unripe fruit
And now some blue
Like the night
White like its stars
With yellow shades
And you can only breathe the air

Blue like you
Like the sky and the sea
And yellow like sunlight
Red like the things you do to me
Try

For storms, I have no color
With what's left, I draw a flower
Now that it's summer, now that it's love

Blue like you
Like the sky and the sea
And yellow like sunlight
Red like the things you do to me
Try
"

Modà feat Jarabe de Palo

Like a painter... Berici Climbs is a palette of colours, or rather of 5 fundamental and distinctive colours, symbols of the largest cycling park in Italy.

Let's see one by one and what they symbolize:

Green

It is the color of the lush and luxuriant nature of the Berici Hills, the spring-summer green of the deciduous forests of oaks, ashes, chestnuts and hornbeams often gives way to clearings of emerald green meadows. On the Berici Hills you can practice "forest bathing" by immersing yourself in relaxing and invigorating natural scenarios that pamper your soul, mind and heart. Green indicates climbs and easy itineraries also suitable for beginners.

Climb: They are cycleable climbs, the average gradient is between 3 and 5%, the maximum gradient can usually reach small sections at a maximum of 8-9%. The length is short, it does not present any particular critical issues in terms of flooring.

Itinerary: They are mainly flat itineraries, they last from 30 minutes to 2 hours, the overall differences in height reach a maximum of 200 m. Suitable for beginner cyclists and families.

Light blue

It is the color of the sky of the Hills, often free from mists and mists, a palette of variations of light blue and blue depending on the season and the time of day. The large body of water of Lake Fimon and the many signs are blue, splendid crossroads of the many locations of the Berici Climbs Park.
Blue indicates climbs and medium-easy itineraries suitable for those who already have a minimum amount of experience with the bicycle and have some training.

Climb: They are climbs that can be cycled but which are starting to require a fair level of preparation, the average gradient is between 3 and 5%, the maximum gradient can usually reach sections of medium length even at 12-13% max. The length is moderate, it does not present any particular critical issues in terms of flooring.

Itinerary: They are not flat itineraries, they last from 1 hour to 4 hours, the overall differences in height vary from 250 m to 600 m.

Yellow

The color of the sun that nourishes and warms the Berici Climbs Park every day, gives life to bright yellow spring blooms such as rapeseed and dandelion, and its variations towards dark yellow and gold with the summer expanses of the fields of sunflowers and ears of ripe wheat.
Yellow indicates difficult climbs and itineraries, suitable for cyclists with experience and average preparation.

Climb: They are moderately demanding climbs that require commitment in various sections, the average gradient is between 5 and 6%, the maximum gradient can usually reach sections of medium length even at 13-15% max. The length can be important, it does not present any particular critical issues in terms of flooring, even there may be sections of cobblestone or concrete.

Itinerary: They are not flat itineraries, they last from 3 hours to 3 hours and 30 minutes, the overall differences in height vary from 1100 m to 1500 m.

Red

The color of passion is found in the summer expanses of the poppy fields and in the magical suggestions of the autumn foliage that paints the woods of the Berici Climbs Park in incredible variations of red. Red indicates difficult climbs and itineraries suitable for expert, trained cyclists who are not afraid of tackling challenging slopes and distances.

Climb: They are challenging climbs that require commitment in a large part of their development, the average gradient is between 6 and 7%, the maximum gradient can usually reach sections of medium length even at 15-17% max. The length can be important, critical issues may arise in terms of pavement such as cemented or dirt sections.

Itinerary: They are not flat itineraries, they last around 4h to 4h30min, the overall differences in altitude vary from 1600m to 2000m.

Black

It is the color of the evening, of the darkest night which with its cloak of stars covers the rolling hills of the Berici Climbs Park, guarding its secrets and freeing the life of nocturnal fauna. The silences of the night, of the forests and fields... are broken only by the summer song of crickets, the sound of nocturnal birds of prey and the trampling of roe deer, wild boars and other small wild animals.
Black indicates very difficult climbs and itineraries, suitable for expert cyclists who have reached an excellent level of training.

Climb: They are very demanding climbs that require maximum commitment for their entire development, the average gradient is between 8 and 11%, the maximum gradient can usually reach sections of medium length even at 20-24% max. The length can be important, critical issues may arise in terms of pavement such as cemented or dirt sections.

Itinerary: They are very difficult itineraries, they last between 4 hours and more than 6 hours, the overall differences in altitude vary from 2000 m to 3100 m.

The Gravel Badges

Badge I - Romeo and Juliet Castles

They symbolize the entire new north-western territory of Berici Climbs, the offshoots of the Castellari Mountains, spectacular places of transition between the Berico plateau and the pre-Alpine slopes.

The very difficult Strada dei Carri (Wagon Road) that leads to the castles in the municipality of Montecchio Maggiore is representative of this part of the park.

Badge II - Sanctuary of Monte Berico

A symbolic site for the entire park, of great and rare beauty, beloved by the Giro d'Italia with two stage finishes in ten years. It also hosts two gravel climbs, including the wonderful and pleasant Colonia Bedin.

Badge III-Villabalzana

It represents a bastion, a port of arrival for many climbs in the northern area. A wonderful place surrounded by greenery with breathtaking views of Lake Fimon and the entire pre-Alpine chain.

Badge IV - Grancona

A symbolic place of the southern block, its large square, the church that looks more like an ancient castle and the panoramic terrace overlooking the Val Liona make Grancona a sought-after and desired destination.

Badge V - Hermitage of Dan Donato

It is a magical place, full of spirituality, where the rock of the hills merges with the human action to draw a perfect frame, a painting from which you can admire the skyline of the Euganean Hills and recover the seconds of time passed, here you can perceive the true essence of Berici Climbs, memento vivere.

VI- Gravel Super Hero Badge

The badge that certifies that you are the real heroes! Climbing 50 gravel climbs is a great feat that deserves to be celebrated, because the effort is hard, but even more so is managing to complete a complex journey in an often complicated and crowded life. This is an achievement of resilience and passion, it's your achievement! Hold on to it!
