THE BERICI CLIMBERS

As a boy, that red polka dot shirt fascinated me partly because of its originality and partly because it resembled the pimpa, an evergreen cartoon that I had always liked. These were the years of the Diablo Claudio Chiappucci who frolicked on the epic climbs of the Tour de France, conquering podiums and wearing red polka dot jerseys, the jersey of the leader of the Gran Boucle climbers.
The shirt was a symbol of exploits, of true effort and of peaks conquered through legendary feats. After a few years, the Pirate, the myth, Marco Pantani arrived, and these days marks the twentieth anniversary of his death. Marco brought many people closer to cycling, including myself, he made the effort popular, and thanks to his exploits he carved indelible pages of this magnificent sport.
Berici Climbs was also born thanks to these stories, these myths that have made climbing by bicycle something sacred, mystical, a metaphor for life where only through real effort can the most beautiful conquests and joys be obtained.
The first Berici Climbs contest THE BERICI PATENT is dedicated to the legends of cycling, to the strongest Italian climbers ever, it aims to be a real challenge to oneself to enter the Olympus of Berici Climbers, wall of fame of Berici Climbs!
100 climbs, 100 walls divided into 5 colors or degrees of difficulty, are the access route to the beating heart of the Berici, roads suspended between earth and sky, hairpin bends painted by an impressionist artist that make the 100 climbs of the Berici Climbs park something unique it's magic.
In some areas of the Berici, time seems to have crystallized and only the slow cadence of a pedal stroke can reveal its secrets.
EXCLUSIVE BADGES AND DIPLOMAS
For every ten climbs conquered, gods will be conquered personalized and exclusive badges, each dedicated to one of the strongest Italian climbers of all time.
Upon reaching 80 and 90 climbs, in addition to obtaining the bronze and silver badge, you will obtain one splendid diploma Bronze and Silver with your name, all to be printed and framed. Upon completion of all 100 climbs, the highly coveted gold badge and the exclusive Berici Gold climber's diploma will be released!
You will have a cycling season (from 1 April to 31 October) to complete the greatest number of climbs and conquer the coveted badges.
EVERY RIDE COUNTS AND IS IN SOLIDARITY
But the best thing about these climbs will be that every pedal stroke counts, it really counts! By conquering each peak of Berici Climbs you will be able to donate 20/30/50 euro cents in solidarity. Berici Climbs and its park have lined up to create a more bicycle-friendly world, where the weakest count and are respected. Berici Climbs fights every day against road violence which unfortunately still claims too many victims within the weakest category, i.e. pedestrians and cyclists.
Berici Climbs is committed to spreading a culture of respect for the weakest and fights for this together with the Michele Scarponi Foundation which since 2017 has been fighting every day to help families who are victims of bereavement caused by road violence and to provide training in schools and through projects of road safety education. The Foundation lives and we all live by honoring the late Michele, a professional cyclist but above all a person with a heart of gold, who flew to heaven prematurely in 2017 due to road violence.
Becoming a Berici climber therefore has many precious meanings, bringing home and displaying the badges and the diploma are sources of great personal pride, symbols of having done something important for oneself and above all for others.
BERICI CLIMBS POLKA DOT SWEATER
In addition to the badges/diploma, you can also wear the Berici Climbs symbol, it is in fact available (by ordering it at info@bericiclimbs.com) the legendary polka dot shirt by Berici Climbs!
An iconic, unique, spectacular jersey was designed that would recall the symbol of the record of the greatest climbers of all time, the red polka dot jersey of the Tour de France. The Berici Climbs polka dot shirt contains polka dots of all five colors of the Berici Climbs climbs, and contains exactly 100 of them! (count them) divided exactly into the number of differently colored climbs. A unique garment, built with high quality technical fabrics by our partner To Fit.
Only by proudly wearing the Berici Climbs polka dot shirt will you be able to recognize another climber during your adventures in the park and why not stop with him/her to replenish your efforts in some location friendly to Berici Climbs 😉

The Gravel Badges

Badge I - Romeo and Juliet Castles

They symbolize the entire new north-western territory of Berici Climbs, the offshoots of the Castellari Mountains, spectacular places of transition between the Berico plateau and the pre-Alpine slopes.

The very difficult Strada dei Carri (Wagon Road) that leads to the castles in the municipality of Montecchio Maggiore is representative of this part of the park.

Badge II - Sanctuary of Monte Berico

A symbolic site for the entire park, of great and rare beauty, beloved by the Giro d'Italia with two stage finishes in ten years. It also hosts two gravel climbs, including the wonderful and pleasant Colonia Bedin.

Badge III-Villabalzana

It represents a bastion, a port of arrival for many climbs in the northern area. A wonderful place surrounded by greenery with breathtaking views of Lake Fimon and the entire pre-Alpine chain.

Badge IV - Grancona

A symbolic place of the southern block, its large square, the church that looks more like an ancient castle and the panoramic terrace overlooking the Val Liona make Grancona a sought-after and desired destination.

Badge V - Hermitage of Dan Donato

It is a magical place, full of spirituality, where the rock of the hills merges with the human action to draw a perfect frame, a painting from which you can admire the skyline of the Euganean Hills and recover the seconds of time passed, here you can perceive the true essence of Berici Climbs, memento vivere.

VI- Gravel Super Hero Badge

The badge that certifies that you are the real heroes! Climbing 50 gravel climbs is a great feat that deserves to be celebrated, because the effort is hard, but even more so is managing to complete a complex journey in an often complicated and crowded life. This is an achievement of resilience and passion, it's your achievement! Hold on to it!
