Climb mountains and retrace the paths of the great Michele, iconic places loved and dreamed of by the Aquila di Filottrano, nicknamed "Scarpa" by his teammates.
The Giro di Scarpa is an exciting contest to conquer the 21 climbs dear to the champion from the Marche: no rush, the spirit is to pedal, enjoy the effort of the climb, the joy of the descent and put your foot down for road safety.
The goal is to experience the journey together, stopping, breathing, and putting your foot down: with the Giro di Scarpa, relive Michele's epic gesture on the Colle dell'Agnello, when he stopped to wait for his captain and accompanied him to victory in the Giro d'Italia, teaching us that a group victory is more beautiful than an individual victory.
In this section of the BERICI CLIMBS partner project, you will find all the information on the 21 climbs of the Giro di Scarpa, complete with descriptions, general data, GPX tracks, Velo viewer elevation profiles, Strava segments, and Komoot tracks.
The Giro di Scarpa is reserved for members of the Michele Scarponi Foundation.
Do you want to participate in the Giro di Scarpa? Here's how:
You can participate in the Giro di Scarpa from 27/05/2026 to 24/10/2026.
The dates are not chosen at random: May 27, 2016, is the day Michele set foot on Colle dell'Agnello. October 24, 2026, is Scarponi Day, the celebration of Michele's friends and the Foundation, where all participants in the Giro di Scarpa are invited to celebrate the feat together.
Ride Michele's climbs and earn your brevets!
The Giro di Scarpa is a journey within a journey, where effort meets nature, the soul touches the sky and pedal after pedal Michele continues to live.
Special thanks to Michele Mazzieri, creator and founder of the Salite delle Marche website, for the text and photographs of the first magnificent climbs in the Marche region.
They symbolize the entire new north-western territory of Berici Climbs, the offshoots of the Castellari Mountains, spectacular places of transition between the Berico plateau and the pre-Alpine slopes.
The very difficult Strada dei Carri (Wagon Road) that leads to the castles in the municipality of Montecchio Maggiore is representative of this part of the park.
A symbolic site for the entire park, of great and rare beauty, beloved by the Giro d'Italia with two stage finishes in ten years. It also hosts two gravel climbs, including the wonderful and pleasant Colonia Bedin.
It represents a bastion, a port of arrival for many climbs in the northern area. A wonderful place surrounded by greenery with breathtaking views of Lake Fimon and the entire pre-Alpine chain.
A symbolic place of the southern block, its large square, the church that looks more like an ancient castle and the panoramic terrace overlooking the Val Liona make Grancona a sought-after and desired destination.
It is a magical place, full of spirituality, where the rock of the hills merges with the human action to draw a perfect frame, a painting from which you can admire the skyline of the Euganean Hills and recover the seconds of time passed, here you can perceive the true essence of Berici Climbs, memento vivere.
The badge that certifies that you are the real heroes! Climbing 50 gravel climbs is a great feat that deserves to be celebrated, because the effort is hard, but even more so is managing to complete a complex journey in an often complicated and crowded life. This is an achievement of resilience and passion, it's your achievement! Hold on to it!
