Word Enrico

Enrico Parolo

Hi, I'm Enrico, I'm always a bit afraid of introductions... You never know what to say to be captivating. I love riding my bike, covering many kilometers and especially climbing many hills, and perhaps it's because of these efforts that I'm so fond of sweets. When I get off the saddle I love being with my two dachshunds and going to museums with my wife. I hope, given my thick beard, you'll recognize me along the streets of our beloved hills because a greeting or a smile eases the fatigue and improves the day.

Bruno Ruffato

Bruno Ruffato

Bruno Ruffato, pediatrician from Vicenza, a lifelong cyclist by passion, president of the VaccinarSì amateur sports association.

The bicycle is a great vehicle to promote a health message.

Cycling is good for you even as a child, perhaps in the company of your parents. It allows you to socialise and discover nature thanks to the beautiful routes in our area.

debora

Debora Morlupo

Hi! I'm Debora, I love playing sports and being in nature. The bike entered my world in the very year in which the 💯 Berici Climbs were born, of which I am one of the first 10 finishers of the zero edition. They were an amazing adventure for me, but above all a school. Now they have become a playground where I can have fun and train for future challenges. Always remember that after the hairpin bend…… FLAT! 💪🏻🤩

Matthew Perry Pic

Matthew perry

Hello everyone, I am Matthew Perry. I am an American and have worked and lived in Vicenza for six years but only found a passion for cycling about 2 years ago. Since then, my passion has become a wonderful obsession! I love waking up early and heading out to explore these challenging climbs and experience the amazing sights and great coffee bars along the way. I look forward to seeing you all out on the beautiful Berici hills this year and for many more to come.

Monica from the innkeeper

Monica Dall'Oste

I'm Monica, I do triathlon and without a doubt at the top of my podium is the bike, which gives me emotions with every meter traveled as well as allowing me to discover wonderful corners of our territory.

Christian Girardi

Christian Girardi

Hi!! My name is Christian, married, with a 20 year old daughter.
In my free time I like to cycle, especially if there are hills!
For me, cycling is a moment of fun, but also a relaxing movement from work commitments. I must say that the Berici Hills are truly a beautiful gym, which offers countless wonderful views.

andrea-ianni

Andrea Ianni

Ciao a tutti
my name is Andrea Iannì and I am passionate about everything that has two wheels, without distinction: bike, motorbike, gravel, historic, graziella, tandem... if it keeps you balanced and takes you far, it's for me.

My passion is off-roading, where mud, dust and unknown trails make every outing an adventure.

I love the more playful side of cycling: the senseless challenges, the Tuesday night pizza rides, the “intelligent” starts in the dead of night, getting run over by a herd of wild boars (a real experience) and the Fantozzi-style scapuzzoni at the trattoria on the bend where you don't get hurt and have something to tell.

Because of my desire to do and overdo things, I am the target of the "prayers" of my more resigned companions in adventure (You, the Mrs. Wife and the Other Friend Edi).

It's hard for me not to accept a challenge even if my motto is: "Surround yourself with those who go slower than you, never ride the latest bike so that if you lose it's the vehicle's fault"

In Berici Climbs I would like to bring that spirit of carefree competition where it doesn't matter to arrive first, the important thing is to arrive before Vito Moro🤣

Ambassador Francesco Benato

Francesco Benato

Always passionate about everything that tickles curiosity, I became passionate about running at 26 and with it I discovered the Berici Mountains. From there, an accessible world full of culture, nature, history, sports opens up to me. So I try to spend as much time as possible on a motorbike, bike, on foot and in the meantime I take a house in Castegnero, right next to the mountains. From there I decide that that is my world, the mountain bike allows me to explore further and further, my eyes are increasingly full of novelties. The race moves to the trails and the Ultrabericus becomes a ten-year experience made of discovery, effort and finally a good result. I have always been supported by a wonderful patient wife and my 10-year-old son Alessio, now the adventure has moved to the road bike and climbing on the cliffs. Long live the Hills, let's live them!

Gianpaolo Piva

Hi! I'm Gianpaolo, but everyone calls me Paolo. I started cycling in 2000 due to a knee problem, and I've never stopped cycling since. 😊 Road cycling, in particular, has been my companion on a thousand adventures, helping me push my limits and bringing me so much satisfaction. In 2020, my life changed. A problem with my cervical vertebrae compressed my spinal cord, leaving me at risk of immobility. An exceptional team of doctors managed to limit the damage, but I still have balance and stability issues that prevent me from walking smoothly and, of course, from riding a bike. But searching online, I found a solution. Now I have a wonderful three-wheeled bike that has allowed me to get back to cycling with satisfaction and take on new challenges. Thanks to Berici Climbs for allowing me to bring the voice of cyclists with disabilities to this great group. See you on the hills!

Vito Moro

Vito Moro

Anagraphically I am no longer young, but I am a combination of passions: during the week I practice the profession of architect, while on Saturdays and/or Sundays I tour the Veneto and surroundings with my gravel bike. I am a cycle-explorer and I love discovering new places. Each of my trips is an adventure that could start before dawn and end late at night or last several days.

My bike trips, even the longest ones, always start and end at home. I don't use the car to get closer to the places I want to explore; at most, I combine the bike + train combination.

I love cycling in the “middle places”, travelling through less frequented areas and districts, whether they are mountains, hills, or in the endless and flat plains. River banks are my favourite routes, along with paths, cart tracks, quarries and minor roads. Each trip is planned on paper and my camera always accompanies me, ready to capture the most beautiful and significant moments of each adventure.

I like to do the shorter trips in company, but the longer, more tiring or completely new ones I do alone, to have the freedom to follow my own rhythms, to rest, to observe, to capture with the camera lens every moment, every light, every natural or architectural image, every sign of man that strikes my eyes and my imagination. Through cycling, I explore not only new landscapes, but also new aspects of myself. Every pedal stroke is a journey of discovery, both physical and mental, which allows for deep introspection and a personal connection with the world around me.

I like to share these experiences with my friends through pictures and stories.

Last year I completed the 100 climbs of the Brevetto Berici Climbs in a short time: it was an extraordinary challenge that pushed me beyond the boundaries I thought I had. I am happy to have dedicated almost two months of the most precious time of my life in the truly exceptional context of the Colli Berici.

cinzia

Cinzia Piazza

Hi, I'm Cinzia.
I got into cycling towards the end of 2022 because I wanted to try to find an activity to share with my husband in our free time.
I had been watching him leave on his bike for years and come back after hours and I wondered why he had chosen a sporting activity that required so much time.
I haven't stopped since.
I have my own pace, my outings even alone are shorter than his, but I have discovered that cycling is a beautiful sport. I like climbs because while you are climbing you are so concentrated that it is as if you were alienated, time is suspended, it is almost mentally relaxing, and at the end of the climb the fatigue is immediately forgotten and only the satisfaction of having made it remains.
Berici Climbs is a wonderful opportunity to push yourself to go out on your bike even when you are tempted not to, to challenge yourself and to explore our wonderful hills.
Thanks Matteo! With you I shared a Scudeletta that I will never forget!

andrea-dorio

Andrea Dorio

Production Manager by profession, athlete by passion, explorer of limits by vocation. The world of endurance sports, and triathlon in particular, is my dimension: the challenge against myself, the fatigue that turns into growth, the road that stretches out in front of me like an opportunity to conquer. I love nature, because it is the perfect stage for every adventure, the place where I truly breathe and find my balance. Every race, every training session is an inner journey, a way to discover how far I can go. I recently took on the most beautiful and intense challenge of my life: being Vittoria's father. An adventure that goes beyond any goal, because true success is leaving a mark, inspiring and transmitting the passion for life.

Ambassador Silvia Camon

Silvia Camon

Silvia Camon, passionate about cycling and cycle tourism since always. Activist of cycling mobility, I love discovering the world slowly and traveling sustainably. I encourage women to ride a bike and I hope for a cycling world that is increasingly open to the female world, and partisan.

Viktor Vargas

Hi... I'm Victor, I discovered this wonderful passion about three years ago and I haven't been able to stop. I love climbs, and thanks to Matteo, with his Berici Climbs project, I've discovered routes that make you appreciate how beautiful our Berici Hills are. My motto is: "I don't hate my home, I love the feeling of freedom that only cycling gives me." I fell in love so much that I did them twice!!!

Ambassador Barbara Boschin

Barbara Boschin

Hiiii, I'm Barbara, I discovered this beautiful passion 5 years ago. I love climbs, but not so much roundabouts. My motto is: no matter how much effort you put in, you'll love the ending. NEVER GIVE UP

sara-berno

Sara Berno

HI! I'm Sara and my passion for cycling was born in 2020. It was love at first ride and since then I've been trying to discover every corner of the Berici, which never cease to amaze: the bike allows me to savor the changes in lights and colors which transform these hills into an ever new and surprising spectacle.

Ambassador Luigi Mattiello

Luigi Mattiello

I am a biomedical engineer with a great passion for cycling and sports in general. Growing up in the hills, the love for climbs and cycling was born naturally. Thanks to Berici Climbs, I had the opportunity to discover hidden corners of the Berici Hills that I did not know, places that deserve to be enhanced to transform this area into a true paradise for bicycle and nature lovers.

The Gravel Badges

Badge I - Romeo and Juliet Castles

They symbolize the entire new north-western territory of Berici Climbs, the offshoots of the Castellari Mountains, spectacular places of transition between the Berico plateau and the pre-Alpine slopes.

The very difficult Strada dei Carri (Wagon Road) that leads to the castles in the municipality of Montecchio Maggiore is representative of this part of the park.

Badge II - Sanctuary of Monte Berico

A symbolic site for the entire park, of great and rare beauty, beloved by the Giro d'Italia with two stage finishes in ten years. It also hosts two gravel climbs, including the wonderful and pleasant Colonia Bedin.

Badge III-Villabalzana

It represents a bastion, a port of arrival for many climbs in the northern area. A wonderful place surrounded by greenery with breathtaking views of Lake Fimon and the entire pre-Alpine chain.

Badge IV - Grancona

A symbolic place of the southern block, its large square, the church that looks more like an ancient castle and the panoramic terrace overlooking the Val Liona make Grancona a sought-after and desired destination.

Badge V - Hermitage of Dan Donato

It is a magical place, full of spirituality, where the rock of the hills merges with the human action to draw a perfect frame, a painting from which you can admire the skyline of the Euganean Hills and recover the seconds of time passed, here you can perceive the true essence of Berici Climbs, memento vivere.

VI- Gravel Super Hero Badge

The badge that certifies that you are the real heroes! Climbing 50 gravel climbs is a great feat that deserves to be celebrated, because the effort is hard, but even more so is managing to complete a complex journey in an often complicated and crowded life. This is an achievement of resilience and passion, it's your achievement! Hold on to it!
